Golf Course

Westlake is a soft-spike course only.

The following dress is permitted on the golf course:

  • Recognised golf shoes or trainers with the consent of the professional
  • Tailored long trousers, golf shorts with a belt and sport socks;
  • Recognised golf shirt
  • Shirt tucked into shorts/trousers
  • Ladies’ golf tops may have collars or a round neck and must reach the top of trousers / shorts / skirt worn.

The following dress is not permitted on the golf course:

  • Jeans
  • T-shirts
  • Slip-slops and Crocs
  • Drawstring type shorts and tracksuits
  • Beachwear

Members Bar & Upstairs Lounge area

Ladies and gentlemen shall at all times comply with smart casual standards of dress.

The dress regulations for the golf course apply with the following additional conditions:

  • Neat, smart jeans may be worn;
  • T-shirts may be worn by ladies only;
  • Tailored shorts with appropriate socks are permitted until 18h00;
  • Golf shoes are strictly prohibited at all times.

Downstairs Bar/Lounge area

The dress regulations for the golf course apply with the following additional conditions:

  • Neat, smart jeans may be worn.
  • T-shirts may be worn by ladies only.
  • “Deck” shoes may be worn with tailored shorts without socks

Please Take Note:

Strict regimentation of dress is generally unacceptable today, and it is consequently undesirable to prescribe specific dress codes for the club.

However when attire is casual, members and guests are required to be neat and presentable at all times.

Extremes in casual dress cannot be condoned

The Welfare of members and guests and their enjoyment of the facilities and ambience of the club are of paramount importance to the committee and management and they accordingly reserve the right to decide whether dress is appropriate or not.
